Have you ever had the feeling that you were stuck in an unpleasant rut? A rut that includes getting up early, fighting rush-hour traffic to work, working hard on a job where your efforts may not be appreciated, going home to eat and watch TV, sliding back to sleep, and waking up to start the same aching routine the next day.
Wash, rinse, repeat. You feel stuck in a rut, and it’s not fair. You’ve given life your best shot. You’ve followed the rules. You selected what seemed to be the best-available choices. Perhaps your spouse has disappointed you, or you’ve recently lost a dear friend or loved one. Worse, others in your social group seem to have it much better. You see your friends on social media, smiling, happy and seemingly fulfilled. It’s not fair. Perhaps you’re starting to lose hope that life will get better.
And you wonder what God might be up to. Is He ignoring you? Punishing you? Testing you? You feel stuck.
This weekend at Trinity Downtown, we’ll be continuing our sermon series that explores how a disciplined life of faith in Almighty God catalyzed the heroes of our faith to be all that God wanted them to be. We’ll discuss how faith in God’s promises can revolutionize our lives. Come celebrate God’s gift of discipline and His love for us in our contemporary service on Saturday at 5:00 pm, and/or the traditional worship services on Sunday at 8:15 am and 10:50 am. Your kids won’t want to miss our “Kingdom Quest” pre-school and student gatherings, and you’ll enjoy making new friends and learning more about your faith in our expanded array of adult bible study classes, all held at 9:30 am on Sunday.
Trinity’s “Alpha” course had a strong start last Monday evening with seven participants that were not on Trinity’s Alpha team. Please join us in praying that next week God will bring more hungry hearts to hear about His grace, and be thinking of a friend or neighbor you might invite.
