About Catalyst Youth

Catalyst is the Youth Ministry at Trinity Lutheran, Downtown, Houston, TX for students in grades 6th – 12th. Catalyst Youth’s primary goal is to help students experience Jesus and to help students become fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ and to be catalysts for the Gospel to the Houston community.

We are made up of students from all over Houston; from Spring to Humble, and from Clear Lake to Spring Branch, and of course the inner-loop. Many high schools are represented, but our weekly youthnights and special events provide a great environment to foster friendships regardless.  We gather together in the heart of Houston to experience Jesus and grow in our relationship with Him.

Middle School (6th – 8th) – The primary discipleship opportunity for Middle School students is called FUEL, which happens every Wednesday of the school year from 5:30 – 7:00pm in the USC.

  • Middle School FUEL (5:30 - 7:00pm, Wednesdays) includes games, topical Bible study, worship, and pizza for $1/slice. FUEL also includes a special confirmation class for students in 8th grade seeking to be confirmed in The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod; this is not mandatory.

High School (9th – 12th) — The primary discpleship opportunity for High School students is called IGNITE, which happens every Wednesday night from 6:45 – 8:30pm in the USC.

  • High School IGNITE (6:45 - 8:30pm, Wednesdays) includes games, topical discussions and Bible study, worship, and pizza for $1/slice. IGNITE provides a great time for students to gather and grow in relationships with other young followers of Jesus.
